Release System Wiring
Female Twist Lock Plug Wiring
This female twist lock plug is found on all Lincoln automatic machines and allows the connection of a wired or wireless release system.
The release cable that comes from the control box of the machine has three wires, which are labeled #1, #2, and #3. The #1 wire outputs 12 VDC, the #2 wire is for the release signal, the #3 wire is a ground. Note that sometimes the wire labels are not visible when opening the twist lock plug. The wires all connect to the circuit board inside the control box, it may be necessary to test continuity between the ends of the wire inside the control box and the ends outside the control box to determine the number of each wire.
Male Twist Lock Plug Wiring
This male twist lock plug must be installed on a wired or wireless release system to connect to a Lincoln automatic machine.
Wired release systems require two conductors. One conductor must be wired to the narrow spade and the other conductor must be wired to the wide spade. The polarity of this connection does not matter. The center pin (ground) is not needed for a wired release.
Wireless release systems require all three connections to be used in order to both power the receiver and send the signal to release the trap. Please see the table below for information regarding connecting a Long Range Wireless receiver.
